Harder O-rings

Performance expectations, coupled with technical advancements, have led Daman Products Co., Mishawaka, Ind., to switch O-ring hardness from 75 to 90 durometer for all face seal O-rings supplied with its standard and custom parts. Advances in machining of sealing surfaces have allowed the industry to implement standards that have fewer and smaller micro-fine grooves. O-rings with a hardness of 90 durometer allow systems operate at higher flow rates and decrease the likelihood of seal failure from shock (water hammer) and pressure spikes.
