2011 Fluid Power Conference & Expo Wrap Up

Well, the 2011 Fluid Power Conference & Expo is now completed and it was a very interesting and successful event in many ways.  We had great speakers, great exhibits, very interested attendees, and tasty food.

The first day was kicked off with our keynote speaker, John Treharn who is the Vice President of Business Development for Parker Hannifin's Hydraulics Group.  His talk was titled, Rebirth of a Mature Technology and it, of course referred to fluid power technology.  His presentation was most optimistic and gave all in attendance a sense of hope for good things ahead for our industry.

One of our exhibitors, Hydrotech, provided two speakers on the first day also.  The first was Russell Tackett of High Country Tek who spoke about Integrating Electronics with Hydraulic Valves and Manifolds.  Their other speaker was a previous Expo presenter, Jon Frey of Bosch Rexroth and his topic was the Continuing Evolution and Design of Hydraulic Valves.  Both presentations were very interesting, informative, and excellent.

Also on our first day schedule were Bob Sheaf and John Balliet who are both H&P partners and expert presentes.  Bob's topics were Hydraulic System Diagnostics and Avoiding Pitfalls of Design Mistakes.  Bob is just a great fluid power educator and the audience really appreciated his sessions.  John, who has presented with us before spoke about the Fundamentals of Hydraulic Systems.  As in the past, he was an audience favorite.

On the second day of the event, Yudi Raina of HyDraw gave a session on the ease of system design with his software package.  Phil O'Neil  of Bosch Rexroth was sponsored by Hydrotech and his topic was Energy Savings With Pneumatics.  Both presentations were very well received by the audience.  Bob and John had additional presentations on the second day as well.

We served a hot breakfast to all in attendance on both days.  Our menu consisted of scrambled eggs, hashbrown potatos, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee, fruit, cereal, and more.  Our lunch entrees included Chicken Cordonbleau, Pot Roast, Chick Marsala, and all that goes with it.

We are thrilled with the success of the event and look forward to future events.
