I strongly believe in print advertising for certain products in certain markets in B-to-B marketing. It works.

I know that online advertising works too and that it is coming on strong. This is especially true if you are trying to publish a high-quality magazine and not just putting anything in the mail just to get it done.

Some months, everything goes smoothly and the issue gets out on time without a hitch. Sometimes things build up and cause delays. Well, our July 2011 issue is having some issues. We discovered a major mistake after some of the issue was printed. It was bad enough to have the section reprinted at an additional cost.

Publisher's Blog

Publisher's Blog Fri, 15 Jul 2011 19:44:00 +0000 9082 at http://hydraulicspneumatics.com Serving users online http://hydraulicspneumatics.com/blog/serving-users-online
We at Hydrauilcs & Pneumatics may not be the speediest to adapt to online technology. However, passion is what has made Hydraulics & Pneumatics a great magazine!

I have been here for a long time and have had the privilege of working with many excellent co-workers who have been passionate about their work. I clearly remember how important quality content was to Tobi Goldoftas, editor in the 1970s and 1980s. After the conversation is over and we have moved on, we might think back and realize that we never really finished the first point.

The same could be true in magazine journalism. In an effort to move where the advertising dollars are, some magazines can reinvent their mission to be what their advertisers want them to be. However, this practice does not serve the reader and thus it does not serve the advertiser either.

Publisher's Blog

Publisher's Blog Wed, 06 Jul 2011 13:00:00 +0000 9088 at http://hydraulicspneumatics.com Who started this rumor? http://hydraulicspneumatics.com/blog/who-started-rumor
Bad rumors are hard to overcome.
