The US manufacturing index rose to 56.9 in October compared to 54.4 in the previous month. That is good news for two reasons. One, it is above 50 which means that manufacturers remain optimistic about their businesses. Two, at 56.9 it continues to show signs of growth to our manufacturing economy.
Of course, manufacturing is critical to the success of fluid power component sales and continued optimism in this area should lead the way to a continued recovery in fluid power sales. I am still hearing on a regular basis from my contacts that component sales continue to recover.
