The 54th Annual Designer's Guide to Fluid Power Products appears in the recently-released January 2010 edition of Hydraulics & Pneumatics. This Guide is an excellent resource for all engineers and technicians involved with the design, operation, maintenance, or repair of machinery and equipment powered by fluid power systems both hydraulic and pneumatic.
There are two presentations of the 2010 Designers Guide. One, of course, appears in our January edition starting on page 14. It is a concise version because of space limitations in this difficult environment. However, there are fewer if any space limitations for the online version found at www.hydraulicspneumatics.com. There you will find the Guide in its entirety.
I have been associated with H&P for many years and I know that this information has been and continues to be one of the best, if not the best presentations of fluid power component information. The charts start with general component categories, such as Pumps and then includes many subcategories of Pumps, such as Fluid, Type, Pressures, and so on. Then the further breakdowns include types of fluids like petroleum base, water glycol and such.
Along the left-hand column, names of the manufacturers of the components, for example pumps, appear. If a given manufacturer listed manufacturers a water-glycol fluid pump, they get a dot in that column indicating that they do indeed sell such a pump, and on and on.
