FPDA Continued

The second day of the 2008 FPDA Annual Meeting was another big success. It started out again with four New Opportunity Networking Breakfast Meetings. The topics were: Electromechanical/Motion, Sensors & Photo-electrics, Variable Frequency Drives, Pneumatics, and Automation/PLCs.

I attended the Pneumatics session that was presented and facilitated by Sally Raczkowski of Allen-Orton LLC. Sally did a great job of drawing the group's attention to the progress of pneumatic components as they continue to become smarter. She emphasized the combination of pneumatics and electro-mechanical technologies to offer the best solutions in many applications. We discussed ways that fluid power distributors can incorporate new technology into their mix of products being offered in the most practical ways. It was a very interesting session.

Next up on the schedule was the general session where incoming board members were nominated, and accepted unanimously. The main speaker of the day was Ernan Roman whose topic was "Transforming Customer Engagement." He provided the audience with some very helpful and interesting insights on building sales.

The day was capped off with a "Backyard Barbecue" on the grounds of the awesome Saddlebrook resort. The food was excellent and the opportunities for networking were plentiful. Another productive day at FPDA.
