The 2008 Annual Meeting of the Fluid Power Distributors Association concluded on Wednesday morning with the official installation of new President John Thornton of GS Hydraulics Inc. Good luck to John in his new duties as President of FPDA.
Congratulations to outgoing President Boyd Barnwell. He did an excellent job of leading the Association and it was during his term that the new Forward Motion Plan was formed and put in place. Please join me in praise of a job well done. He is not finished yet because Immediate Past President is a position that still carries responsibility.
The closing speaker was Jeff Salz who is an adventurer, teacher, and inspirational speaker. He shared lots of ideas from his life experiences on how to deal with change and how to excel in all that we do. I found his presentation to be very enlightening and full of concepts and ideas to remember. That is why I purchased his book.

Finally, thanks and congratulations to Kathy DeMarco and the FPDA management team. They have worked very hard to continue to upgrade the FPDA meetings and the organization overall. It was a very informative meeting with lots of networking opportunities. The site, Saddlebrook, was superb, all of the services were top notch, and the meeting was a huge success! Looking forward to Nashville.
