When I first heard of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), I was under the impression that it was mostly a seminar-based event with lots of classroom activity. What I didn't understand is that it is one of America's largest tradeshows. The 2011 OTC will take place at Houston's Reliant Park on May 2-5, 2011.
This year's theme is Diversity in Energy, People, and Resources. This great event is the world’s foremost event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection. There is a focus on innovative new technology with a Spotlight on New Technology Award being presented at the show.
Our interest in the show here at Hydraulics & Pneumatics, of course, is that fluid power is used extensively in the machinery and equipment that enables such exploration and production. Many fluid power component manufacturers will be showing of their latest component and system technology at the OTC. For more information go to the OTC website.
