One of my favorite authors on matters of business, management, sales, and self-improvement is Brian Tracy. He opens many of his talks and audio programs with words about opportunity.
Brian claims that this is the greatest time in history for business. There is more opportunity for advancement now than ever before. There is more opportunity for personal growth than ever. But you must work constantly at it.
I agree with Brian. Even though we are experiencing a difficult credit market, and a depressed housing market, these things are cyclical. They will improve. Even though our national news media has us bogged down in a daily presidential election battle that is full of bashing and personal attacks, the truth is that we will have great opportunity no matter who gets elected.
If we can just focus with clarity on the tasks at hand every day, we will grow and prosper. I believe this. It does take constant work.
This opportunity is available for many if not most markets and industries in America. It is certainly true for the fluid power market. There is great opportunity for growth and I have commented in the past about markets like hydraulic hybrid vehicles and wind turbines.
If the fluid power industry will focus with clarity on the opportunities available, we will continue to have better days ahead.
