Print and digital are both important
I would like to offer yet another observation about print and digital media. First, they are both important and necessary for media and growth plans for fluid power companies. That is a given.
Printed magazines do offer something unique however. The English language is challenged today because of the use of sloppy verbage by most of us, me included. We tend to use words, phrases, and sentences that are incomplete or grammatically incorect.
One of the many things that print media does for us is that it forces us to READ. Digital media does some of that but there is a different level of reading done with print media versus digital searches. One of the many things that reading does for us is to perpetuate the usage of proper English. I have been privileged during my time here to be associated with editors who have an excellent grasp of our language.
When I read magazine or newspaper articles, I feel that my language skills are always enhanced. Good journalists tend to do that for us because they write in terms that most people can understand while being proper and interesting.
So, not only does our magazine and others like it perpetuate the content of its specialty. They also perpetuate the usage of proper language. Thanks editors and journalists!
