Road Construction - Detour Ahead

Construction addressed in March H&P

When I hear the words Construction Equipment, I usually think of machinery that builds buildings.  Well, of course, those kinds of machines are a very important segment of the Construction Machinery market.  However, if you consider the many, many miles of highways and surface roads in America, road construction equipment is also a huge segment of this market.

In the March 2013 issue of Hydraulics & Pneumatics you will find an article titled Slipform paver has all the smarts and it is both a cool and interesting story about a paving machine and it is written by our Editor, Alan Hitchcox.  In this article, Alan covers the electrohydraulics of the road construcion machine.  The control provided by the sophisticated system is detailed in this feature.

If you find this article to be interesting and useful, may I also suggest that you check out the Construction Zone on this website.  Click here for quick access.  We cover all end-use markets that use fluid power technology and they are organized under the heading Applications on our homepage.
