Some Insights on Recycling

In the October issue of Hydraulics & Pneumatics, author Douglas Krantz of Parker Hannifin Corp., explains some design considerations for shredding machinery. The article is titled Designing for shock and violence and in this entry, Krantz speaks of the need to transmit low-speed, high-torque power for these powerful shredding machines.

He did a great job of explaining how hydraulic systems are set up to deal with the violent events of shredding and recycling. One of the components used is such a system would be low-speed, high-torque motors and you can read more about this component on our website also.

If you want to find out who sells low-speed, high-torque motors, we have that information as well, go to our Designers Guide. For more details on the use of fluid power in recycling and waste management, visit our Industry Zone.
