We cover a rock star in our May issue

Low-speed, high torque hydrauli motors and innovative valve design

In the May 2012 issue of H&P. our Editor, Alan Hitchcox writes about a "rock star."  In this case, the rock star is the I-Drive system that mates with Digga's (Australian equipment manufacturer) planetary gear box.

This system really is a rock star as it enables the excavator to which it is attached to achieve up to 300% greater productivity than currently available systems!  It does this because it takes full advantage of the hydraulic flow capabilities of an excavator producing up to 1,000lpm to delliver a mazimum torque of 300,000 NMm and 240 kW.  The actual title of this article in our May issue is Rock Star of Digging.

This article, like all of our printed content, is also available on the H&P website.  If you choose to read the article there, you might also consider accessing other construction equipment articles in our Construction Industry Zone.  If you want specific product information about the types of components used in the Rock Star application, you can go to our Technology Zone for Pumps and Motors.

And if you prefer to read articles online anyway and would like to recieve our digital edition, please click here and check it out.  Go to the last page and subscribe for free.  We really want to get our great fluid power content into your hands and we are trying to make that as convenient as possible.

Thanks for reading.
