A gold mine of opportunities

Sept. 12, 2012
If you’re involved in the mining industry, then attending MINExpo is probably a no-brainer. But even if your job entails nothing at all to do with mining, there’s a good chance MINExpo still has plenty to offer.

If you’re involved in the mining industry, then attending MINExpo is probably a no-brainer. But even if your job entails nothing at all to do with mining, there’s a good chance MINExpo still has plenty to offer.

First of all, dozens and dozens of companies offering fluid power components, systems, services, and related technologies will be exhibiting. Second,  fluid power doesn’t get much bigger or heavier-duty than mining. So if you’re looking for ideas on how to make your equipment more rugged and powerful, the equipment on display at MINExpo should offer a wealth of ideas. And third, MINExpo will draw thousands of equipment designers, product specialists, and other industry professionals — which translates to great networking opportunities.

MINExpo International 2012 will be held September 24-26 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Hosted by the National Mining Association, the event takes place every four years and will showcase mining’s most advanced technology and services and draw more than 40,000 mining executives, engineers, and operators.

Visitors explore the large machinery at the last MinExpo in 2009.

More than 1800 exhibitors from 35 countries will showcase new products and mining equipment. There will 850,000 ft2 of exhibition space for those attending. Individual pavilions for China, Australia, Germany, Chile, and Canada will be highlighting mining’s growing role across the world.

In addition to the exhibits, seminar sessions will address wide-ranging topics concerning current issues related to mining. Along with the informational sessions, awards will be presented recognizing exceptional safety practices and environmental and reclamation achievements.
