Direct-reading flow meters on pump case drains monitor excess flow. Variable area meter has a 1- to 5-psig pressure drop, with accuracy of 2% full scale. Polysulfone EZ-View variable area meter has 5% full-scale accuracy. Flow Alert reed switch signals alarm if flow increases beyond predetermined limit; can be connected to a PLC or other devices. MR flow transmitters connect to any data acquisition, PLC, or PC for analysis and have analog outputs of 4-20 mA, 0-5 or 0-10 Vdc for remote transmitter.
