FluidTrans Compomac takes a look at real-world applications

March 5, 2012
As has been reported previously, The 2012 Fluidtrans Compomac—the Biennial International Fluid Power and Mechatronics Show—will take place at the Rho fairground in Milan from May 8 to 11.
As has been reported previously, The 2012 Fluidtrans Compomac—the Biennial International Fluid Power and Mechatronics Show—will take place at the Rho fairground in Milan from May 8 to 11. This edition of Italy’s biggest fluid power event has been redesigned to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse audience of visitors, ma
de up of engineers and designers working in different sectors of manufacturing and process industries.

The event will be held in conjunction with the Mechanical Power Transmission & Motion Control exhibitions, which is also organized as part of the Technology Exhibitions Week (TEW). The TEW will also include Plast, the international exhibition for plastics and rubber, and Xylexpo, the biennial international wood processing technology exhibition.

The redesign features Applied Innovations Areas, which are new themed islands, that will present components and solutions operating in real-work situations.
The themed islands will be dedicated to:
• Hydraulics for movable machinery,
• Hydraulics for stationary machinery, and
• Pneumatics and mechatronics.

Attendees to last year’s edition of Fluidtrans Compomac explore the unique fluid power exhibits on the show floor.

The areas will be staffed by engineers who have created applications and by technicians and experts of the industry, to provide visitors interested with specifics and answers. The themed islands will include seminars (organized by universities, associations, research centers), workshops and tutorials staged by enterprises.

Universities and research partners in the Innovations Areas include the Polytechnic of Turin; Imamoter research institute; Mesap–the Mechatronics and Advanced Manufacturing Systems innovation cluster; Telerobot–Engineering & Manufacturing; University of Brescia; and technological partners such as Maneco, Same Deutz-Farh Italia, and Cosberg Cariboni-Marine Hydraulic Systems.

Sample applications and prototypes may include agricultural and earth moving machines, machine tools, lifting devices for construction sites, assembly systems, applications for the marine industry, robotics, power transmission systems, motion control etc.

The program and details of the Innovation Areas will be available this month at www.fluidtranscompomac.it and www.mechanicalpowertransmission.it.

Fluidtrans Compomac is organized by Fiera Milano and ASSOFLUID, Italy’s association of fluid power manufacturers.
