Riding the wave of positive economic news coming out of the Italian fluid power market, show organizers for FluidTrans Compomac (FPT), Biennial International Fluid Power and Mechatronics Exhibition and Mechanical Power Transmission & Motion Control (MPT), the Biennial International Mechanical Transmission, Motion Control and Mechatronics Exhibition, are expanding with an event in Brazil. Both of these trade fairs are promoted by ASSOFLUID (Italian Hydraulics and Pneumatics Association) and Fiera Milano and are organized by Fiera Milano.

Show organizers attribute the move to positive economic indicators for the industry in 2010 — with the hydraulics market up by 45.5% and orders up by 58.75% and the pneumatics market up by 43.8% and orders up by 53.75%, according to Assofluid.

The new Brazilian events will be held October 4-6, in Sao Paolo. This event will be held in conjunction with several other shows, including TUBOTECH, the International Tubes, Valves and Couplings Show; EXPOBOMBAS, the International Pumps, Motopumps and Accessories and EXPOVALVULAS, the International Industrial Valves and Accessories. It is organized by Cipa, a Brazilian trade show organizer.

The Italian events, which are held every other year, are slated for May 8-11, 2012, in Milan. In addition to taking place concurrently with BIAS, two new events, Plast (the International Exhibition for Plastics and Rubber Industries) and Xylexpo (Biennial World Exhibition for woodworking technology and furniture supplies), will also be held during FPT and MPT.
