I am one who originally showed some angst about reading digital publications. We made the adoption of digital issues some six years ago at H&P. During that time, I have been somewhat skeptical about the acceptance by our readers of digital magazines.
The light is starting to shine through to me because we have a really great presentation of H&P magazine every month with our digital edition. You can get a preview of our digital edition by clicking on the title of this post.
Digital first, as I understand it though, means more than having a digital edition of your magazine. It is more of an attitude toward the desimination of information. It means being prepared to send good content out to your audience by any means possible and often that means through digital delivery even before print.
In the very competitive media world, that is a change of plans because we are used to making our print editions the main portal for content. Now we look at all means of delivery as our main portals and that includes print, online, and in-person.
It is the quality of content that really matters. That is why we continue to concentrate on great content here at Hydraulics & Pneumatics.
