Starting on page 34 of the November issue of Hydraulics & Pneumatics is a very interesting description of Nevada Solar One, a sun-powered, hydraulicly-actuated power plant in the Nevada sun.
This green energy alternative is a solar thermal plant that utilizes a sytem that heats fluid up to 750 degrees to drive a turbine and generator to produce electricity. This is renewable energy with no burning of fossil fuels and no emissions.
Once again, hydraulic technology is at work, helping to produce clean energy. By positioning the curved mirrors to maximize the effectiveness of the suns rays to produce energy, hydraulic technology proves to be the best, most efficient way to get the job done.
