Through the depths of the Great Recession and through the meteoric rise in sales that followed, H&P magazine has been here every month reporting on the technology both in our printed magazine and on our website. In IFPE years and in years when fluid power was not in the spotlight, H&P was here.
You see, Hydraulics & Pneumatics magazine is owned by a company that is a decendant of its actual founder. Penton owns H&P and manages it well. But, the magazine really belongs to the readers in the industrial markets served by fluid power technology.
The engineers and technicians who buy the advertised products and read the highly-technical content are the real reason we were founded and that we exist today. For our over-60 years of business, we have stayed true to all-fluid-power, all-the-time and have not strayed from that.
We have not changed our focus to follow the ad money. We have not become a fluid power magazine in good times to cash in on the marketing dollars that might be available from fluid power component manufacturers. No, we report on fluid power technology. We produce tutorials on fluid power components and how they work.
We educate about valves, fittings, seals, and more. We describe interesting applications using fluid power systems both pneumatic and hydraulic so that our ENGINEERING readers can learn from our content.
While many fluid power industry professionals are interested in our content, we really don't publish the magazine and manage our website for them. It is done for their customers so that they have a true place to advertise.
