This week, the Midwest Design & Manufacturing Show is being held at McCormick Place in Chicago. It is part of a multi-show package being held concurrently by UBM.
This particular show is a decendent of the old Manufacturing Week or Design Engineering Show held in Chicago for decades. In the late 1990's the Design Engineering Show, Plant Engineering Show, and all of the accompanying shows made up National Manufacturing Week with thousands of exhibitors and tens of thousands of attendees.
Well, as business lifecycles go, it shrank and shrank. Now, in it's current format, it is beginning to gain strength again with more exhibitors and more attendees than in previous years. This has been the year for tradeshow that involve fluid power technology in some way and that includes the MD&M.
