These are an interesting proposition. Companies exhibit because they want to meet with customers and prospects. People attend because they want to review new and existing technology.
Now, how do you put the two together? At ConExpo/IFPE 2011, 140,000 visitors were expected to attend. Thousands of companies exhibited.
This show is unique because it is so large and, actually, long. It is open for five days and covers a huge area. In speaking with many of the exhibitors, I got the impression that patience was important at this event. I would compare it to casting a net into the waters and waiting for the results.
Over the five day period, results are obvious. There many not be any one time where the traffic was large but the composite was significant. I believe that both the exhibitor and attendees were well served at this show. Yes, there were slow times, but by Saturday, the nets were mostly full.
