I have heard and read a lot about advances in fluid power in the industrial side to more or less "save" the technology. If they could just make industrial hydraulic and pneumatic technology more competitive with electro mechanical technology, they will win more applications.
While this is true, we must keep in mind that the users will decide which technology they use in their machinery. Whatever works best for the designer and builder of machinery will be selected as the power source. Keep in mind that the user is only interested in their success, not the success of any particular technology.
The measure of a successful manufacturer of industrial machinery is that the machinery is efficient, effective, productive, and reliable, not that it is powered by hydraulics or by electrics. With that in mind, the door is open to industrial hydraulic component and system manufacturers to continue their success by innovating great technology.
