I have had many discussions this presidential election year about politics. My mind has been made up for a long time on who I am supporting in this election. Actually, that really doesn't matter.
You may have made up your mind already too. You may feel very strongly about one candidate or the other. I hope that you do. It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter to me what you think. What DOES matter is that you think. After many discussions with me voicing my support for my candidate and telling those who disagree that they are wrong and why, I realize that I have been more concerned about convincing others that listening to their reasons and praising them for their thoughts.
For anyone who supports a candidate, I challenge you to list three issues on which that candidate or his or her party has made their position clear and that you agree with their position. If you do, great. If you don't agree or can't even list three issues of contention on which you agree with your candidate, then please start thinking.
It is not what you think that matters, it is that you think.
