The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2013 will be held May 6-9 at Reliant Park, Houston. Perhaps the largest and most important event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection, OTC attracts more than 80,000 attendees from more than 110 countries and 2500 exhibiting companies, including a large number of fluid power component, system and service providers.

The event’s technical program covers a variety of topics, including Offshore Regulation and Policy; the Expanding Role of National Oil Companies; and Alternative Energy and Related Topics.

In addition, new topics to be addressed this year include: sub-salt geosciences, Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS), unconventional subsea exploration and mining, deepwater HP/HT well construction, fiber optics, marine geohazards, and pore pressure prediction.

OTC also offers project updates from around the world. Hear about the latest developments in the Cascade and Chinook Project, Liuhua 11-1 Semi-Submersible FPS Life Extension Project, BPZ CX15 Offshore Peru, South China Sea Deepwater Liwan Project, and Pluto greenfield LNG development.

Finally, the event will review Continuing Advancements, highlighting improvements and innovations in the following: flow assurance, floating LNG, submarine slope stability, next-generation vessels, deepwater metallic risers, ocean mining, composite piping systems, ROV/AUV technology, and subsea processing technology

Special events include the Ethics in the Dynamic Offshore Industry on May 6; the University R&D Showcase, with projects highlighted from Texas A&M University, Rice University, Cranfield University, Kansas State University, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and University of Nevada Las Vegas; Topical Luncheons; and other networking events.
