When high air pressure expands to atmosphere and creates high-frequency turbulence, it converts it into an audible tone that can be heard through headphones. Background plant noise is filtered out using three sensitivity settings of X1, X10, and X100 along with an on/off thumb wheel. LEDs on the display confirm the source of the leak.
